DD Wrangler
Track Caravan
Burn Express

this is real tough, because they are all such good vehicles for their purposes. I would say
DD: Jeep because off roading err-day
Track: Cargo van because you could probably make it pretty fast.
Burn: minivan because I would want to keep the other two more.

Chevy Express: Track - Just plow through everyone at every corner
Rubicon: DD - My friends can walk
GC: BURN BURN BURN!

DD Jeep
Track Express (Yes, even one with corners, though drag racing would suit it better)
Burn the Caravan

I know that the minivan might be the best choice for the track because center of gravity, but it’s still a facken mini van!
DD - Wrangler
Track - Cargo Van (Sabine Schmitz did pretty well in a sprinter)
Burn - Mini Van

Express vans live up to their name (unless 4.8L, then burn). Fast off the line (esp. with 6.0) and they actually handle pretty well. Make good drift machines.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 14:42 |

You won't need to plough through anyone, just hang a magnificent drift.

DD: Terrible Dodge Caravan, because it’s probably really comfy and also mpgs.
Track: Wrangler, if the track is Moab.
Burn: Shady looking Chevy van.

DD Express because why not, Track the Caravan because of that juicy V6 power (Seriously, Caravans are quick if you put your foot down), and burn the Jeep.

Wow everyone seems to agree for once...

Don't just burn the minivan, pound that shit with a barrage of 155

Trust me, it won’t. I’ve been a passenger in some pretty wild driving in one of those. Enclosed are some examples. (note: I do not sanction any of the below examles, nor do I take responsibility.)
Sitch #1: Street which is just a series of 90deg bends. Tail out in every one. No straight lines were taken.
Sitch #2: Hwy cloverleaf, signed for 30kph. Ramps are usually good for about double what they are signed for in Ontario. We entered at about 70-80kph, and exited in a 4-wheel slide at 120kph.
Van in question was a 15-passenger 3500 Express with the 6.0V8.
Yeah, you’ll be fine.

DD: Wrangler (would come in handy with the driving I do)
Track: Shady Chevy (make the Express live up to its name!)
Burn: Caravan (I’m not ready to be a soccer mum yet!)

U haff 4.8 van?
Lets get something clear. The 4.8, in it’s stock form, is not a good engine for a heavy cargo van. As these DDtrackburn things are “take it as is or leave it”, I’d burn a 4.8 van.
As far as the engine itself goes, there’s a lot of potential in it. The fact that it’s just a 5.3 with a shorter stroke means it likes to rev more. It’s an ideal turbo motor.
So, if I was allowed to mod it, or pull the engine and then mod it, I’d still have a 4.8, otherwise... burn.
Interesting tidbit for your time.

Soooo what if I used to DD a wrangler that I tracked(well off-roaded) that caught fire and nearly burned down the local Zoo?

DD the van, because I’m sitting in literally that van right now (work vehicle) and they’re pretty useful vehicles.
Track the van, because LSX BRO even though probably not really.
Burn the Jeep, because I've always thought Wranglers were wildly overrated, though I respect the people who daily them when almost anything is a better choice, all things considered.

DD: Wrangler because I’m a conservation officer (no, I’m not).
Track: Chevy because rural dirt tracks.
Burn: Caravan.

Oh, shit. No I didn't. I never read any names that appear to be gibberish, I just sort of take them in as a picture.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:31 |

It's all good. My truck has that engine. I like it. Power is perfectly adequate (295hp) and it really likes to rev as well.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:36 |
|
My biggest beef with it in stock form is a lack of low-end torque. Power is adequate. I found torque really lacking. And when that's in a heavily loaded cargo van, you notice.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:40 |
|
True. It's peak is way down the line, the conservative gearing doesn't help.

DD the Wrangler because it’s probably slightly less horrible to drive than a cargo van on a daily basis.
Track the cargo van because rollovers are fun for everyone!
Burn the Caravan. I don’t think this needs to be explained.

Damn, I never noticed that. Hello fellow 4.8 owner! I’m quite certain the 4.8 is the reason I got a brand new crew cab Sierra for under $22k out the door. They made so few 4.8 crew cabs, the owners manual doesn’t even list it as an option in the tow rating page.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 18:50 |
|
22K is quite the deal.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 19:23 |

It was! It’s a base model 2wd, but it still has power windows, mirrors and locks. Most importantly it has a locking rear end and the towing package. It’s basically ruined me for all other trucks, because the closest comparable new Sierra stickers for nearly $40k.

That's basically mine but I have an ext cab. It even has heated mirrors.
